Peeps, I left a place on the sheet (see first entry) to put your video and all the info. Please make sure you go there and fill it out please. Our video is uploading as I write this.
I just wanted to post everybody that I was an official ICTT finisher yesterday. I gave myself a 4 minute exemption from my Recreational Sugar ban and luckily just finished in time. Video to follow, but was having some issues with the 'production' department last night... Translation, "Am I the only one in the world who hates Apple computers"? How hard should it be to splice 4 different camera angles with one data overlay. I mean seriously?
pushed my long run form Thursday to today to do a local 1/2 Mary. Figured that would set me up for an awesome ICTT. inadvertently came in second in my AG and won a pie! wife, who took pic, says ICTT can wait till next year. . now off for a slice of pie!<img src="/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=kf2OnXV0HK8%3d" />
Feel a little sick from eating so much ice cream in one sitting, but I got it done. Unfortunately, will place towards the bottom. Took a couple of photos but I'm technologically challenged so not yet able to post.
OK, attached are some photo's and video. I did some research to find the fattiest and most calorie dense ice cream on the market with out chunks. I found this at Target. This is an exclusive Ben and Jerry to Target. It was full of chocolate and peanut butter. HMMMM. I think i will switch to this ice cream from now on... but it will be a month or two before i enjoy some ice cream after finishing it in 4:19....
I love the methodical approach to picking out the ice cream. That's true EN style! And yummmm, I don't have a Target nearby but might have to make a special trip to find that flavor!
RE: chocolate + peanut butter B&J research .... Years ago, when I was trying to perfect my pre- race nutrition plan for IM, I hit on the liquid diet concept, and found a Jamba Juice in Madison. I started going with a JJ smoothie the night before. I eventually learned the Chocolate Peanut Butter Moo'd has the most calories of any JJ smoothie ... 1300+ for the Power size. I now know where the Jamba Juice locations for many US IM sites are. The lack or presence of JJ is a consideration for me when picking a race.
@JB - are you kidding?!?!? Best commentary EVER! "Is everybody else doing this?" Hahaha!!! So... if all of us jump off a bridge...... ;-)
JW's video is still in production. I'm not exactly sure what the release date will be.... I played the support role this year - although I do make a cameo in the "end." Brace yourselves....
After a careful review of the videos (and the results) I have these comments:
1. The spoon Cam ROCKS!
2. Ottawa has an energetic and creative crew.
3. MORE COWBELL!
4. Jonathan went for straight time and he is pretty fast.
5. My lack of creativity cannot be overcome by Caloric intake alone. Going for the duathlon was not the best plan if you don't have the speed. Ice cream selection is important and going for the caloric negative split is just not helpful. So, like a true South Carolina Gamecock football fan I'm going to say "Just wait until next year"
I was dying to see the Ottawa sleeper cell video after all the great reviews but when I went to YouTube it wouldn't let me watch it. It said unlicensed music was used in the video and therefore I was blocked. Did anyone else have this problem? I thought it was strange.
As for the inability to play the video due to copyright issues - I had the same problem when I tried to watch it on my mobile devices but it worked fine from my computer.
Here is Team McCrann's entry to the 2013 ice cream time trial. A total team effort after a really bad shopping experience involving the wrong size of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Suffice to say I have way too much ice cream in my house right now. I also learned a very valuable lesson about not outsourcing the purchasing of your ice cream for the time trial to someone who doesn't understand what an ICTT is all about. :-)
Someone was doing a lot of whining about chunks of chocolate in their ice cream. Next time, stay in your box and only be concerned about what you can control at that time. Think unicorns and rainbows!
Withrow- you win. I don't care what the times were, you win. First- I think I'm going to hurl and all I did was watch! Second, you need to market that B&J aero mount!!!
The best comment goes to Jess... "That was boring, you did not fall!!!" John, AMAZING!!!! I am sure that took some practice. And i agree with Nemo, hands down winner!!!
Comments
@Joe- my kids loved the bunny ears! I thought it need a little bit more cowbell!

So i just watched Ottawa's video... My video sucked and was boring...
@Marc - Spoon cam was FRICKIN amazing. I laughed the whole time!!!
@Joe - COWBELL!!! THAT'S what's missing from our video! Next year..... next year....
@David - #1, CONGRATS! And #2, I'll take pie over ice cream ANY DAY. And ice cream over pie. A la mode. Mmmmm.....
@Leslie - I know the feeling!!!
@JB - are you kidding?!?!? Best commentary EVER! "Is everybody else doing this?" Hahaha!!! So... if all of us jump off a bridge...... ;-)
