Pete Beauregard's Macro Thread

Hi Coaches!  First off, as a newbie to EN thank you for all of the support that I have received thus far with the season road map from Coach Rich and the phone call from Coach Patrick.

I haven't been able to get back to you Patrick, so I thought I would just post my questions here:

1.  In the season survey I indicated my A (IMLP) and B (Quassy) races for the 2014 season.  Having listened to your podcasts, having read your content, and having watched your videos, I have realized that doing other races just to do them may not be the smartest way in using my fitness.  But mentally, should/can I add some 5k's/10k's, sprint tri, duathlon, maybe a short bike race or two early on in the season? (Not all of these, just a few.)

 2.   I wish I was able to attend the 2014 Lake Placid camp, but that weekend is already spoken for.  I am planning a 3-4 day Lake Placid camp for myself as I feel it's so important to know the course, especially as this is my first Iron distance triathlon. Would you suggest early June or late June for me to plan this?

Thanks for all of your help and I am looking forward to this season.

(Not all of these, just a few.) You're fine to do pretty much anything until you're about 6-7wks out from the race. Then we want you sticking to the schedule as much as possible.

Whatever works for you logistically works. That said, if you plan to make this a high volume weekend, closer to the race works, but not within ~3wks out.

Thanks for all of your help and I am looking forward to this season.
