Run durability vs Bike focus prior to OS program
Coach Patrick, thanks for the Voicemail earlier this week. My question is why run durability over the bike focused program leading up to the OS program? The reason I ask is I am looking to really improve my bike over the winter and I know training with you and now using power will do that. My run at IM Lou was 4:02, which was a little slower than I was hoping, even though I thought my bike pacing was conservative. Thanks, John

Don't worry, you'll get the work in, and gains, on the bike across the OS and the rest of the season. But the running in the OS is very challenging so the purpose of having you and most of the new members do to the RD plan before the OS is to ensure that you're able to handing the running intensity that's coming.
It's also a very low volume plan so a good opportunity to just chill and reset your head so you're ready to go on Oct 28th
