Just loaded my IM plan after 2 week swim camp. Looking ahead to next weekend "big day" 1/4/1 hour. Is this done like a brick? I can do the bike/run like that but not easily with the swim.
@Jed no worries..yes you want to do the workouts in as close proximity (time) as possible...some folks need to swim on Friday PM...others can do all three on Sat but need to mix up order b/c of pool access, etc. We are looking for total fatigue, etc, to see how your nutrition works, etc.
Looking ahead to May 23/24. 35th college reunion so will not be able to train. It was supposed to be camp week. Thought I could do the swim as scheduled Thursday AM of that week and then the ride later that afternoon. Then do the second long ride and hour run on Sunday followed by long run progression on Monday Memorial Day. Does this make sense or should I do something else? Thanks. Currently in week 13 building to Challenge AC.
REUNION BABY!!! Very cool. Given how the weekend's going to shake out, I think the best plan of action is to have you actually do the long run on Thursday, followed by the "days off" of the reunion. Then on Sunday and Monday you can do the back-to-back long rides: Sunday's ride happy the long bike plus the hour run, Monday would just be the one bike. By putting the long run earlier we reduce the time needed for recovery and get back to training quickly. It will be off, Wednesday will be an easy swim, and then pick things back up with that Thursday long run.
