Plan question

Hey Rich - thanks for the plan. On your instructions it says to load the out season plan to end in 2/2 but then the snap shot says on 1/20 to load the marathon plan. Can you please clarify? Thanks so much!

Btw our HIM relay went great - I have been sick for the last week with the flu, chest congestion etc but finished the bike in 3 hours. Thanks!

  • Yes, that's correct. The OS plan is 14wks long but I'm taking you out of it a couple weeks early to start the marathon training plan.
  • Hey Rich - Between getting sick and the weather, I bombed on starting my OS plan. So I went ahead and loaded the half marathon plan a few weeks earlier than you suggested.

    On week 4 of the Half Marathon, Intermediate 12 week plan, it says, on Saturday, "3/7 as miles at goal pace PLUS 30 seconds/mile, then 7 miles at goal pace MINUS 5 seconds/mile." What does 3/7 and 7 mean? Is the total 10 or is the total 7?

    Also, I was crunched for time last week (week 3) and was unable to do Saturday's "4 miles @ LRP/z1/Easy, 4 miles at HMP/z3/ModHard" - was only able to complete 4 out of the 8 iles, but did those miles at HMP/z3/ModHard. How should I adjust this week's long run?

  • @Ingrid, 3/7 means 3 miles to start up (goal race pace + time) then 7 miles at pace...total of 10 miles. Given you only ran 4 last week, I would aim for 8 this week as 3/5....good luck!

    Hi Shari,

    1. Our Short Course plan services both Sprint and Oly distances races...not sure if that answers your question? Actually, just look at your Season RoadMap and see you're racing Chattanooga nd Chattahoochee Oly vs your notes in your question above. Please go here to read this explanation of the Get Faster plan. You fit that 3rd scenario
    2. Yes, test if you feel you need to do that to set your training zones.
