The "What are you doing this weekend, March 12-14" Thread
Whatca doin'?
Mama's not home, just me and da Boyz.
Today: saddling up in about 40' for 4hrs of climbing up Hwy 39/Azusa Canyon to Crystal Lake. Should be ~65 miles and 6500ft gain. Come home, eat, get my P90X on, drive to Santa Barbara to stay with a friend. Don't worry, SnR have autofeeders and a doggie door, they're fine for about 36hrs solo.
Saturday: Solvang Century I'v never done it but have ridden the roads up there for the Tour. We've had a ton of rain in SoCal so it should be stoopid green. Me and two guys, gonna TT/hammer the crap out of ourselves. Firestone Brewery and tri tip afterwards. NOT looking forward to the drive home, will be 2-3hrs with traffic I'm sure. Anyone else riding? Ambrose?
Sunday: mo' climbing, maybe another 4hrs out to Mt. Baldy.
3hrs yesterday + this above = likely 17hrs in about 4 days. I did 14 last week, all hard, and stood down completely MWF this week. That might become a pattern

Hunkering down for the in-law invasion. We'll have 4 extra people in the house for the weekend, and a party on Saturday (my daughter just turned 5), so I'm just hoping to get in about 90 minutes of brick on Sat, and an hour run on Sun. Anything else would be total gravy.
@Rich, definitely jealous. That sounds like an awesome weekend plan!
Wish I was hanging with Rich..
Working my butt off today and on Sat or Sunday at some point. Plan on doing LA Tri Club ride up PCH Saturday morning and long trail run Sunday. With LA Marathon 9 days away (not running it, but K-Swiss is presenting sponsor) I am buried!
@Matt
good luck with that run....killer pacing!
Trainer. Pain cave. Sat and Sun. Luckily it's the early weeks of the HIM plan. I'll likely ride the CT TT course for fun again, and see how I do this week. I'll most of the time indicated in the plans, but may bag early due to mental stress of still being indoors. Going to rain steadily here all weekend, so they say.
Uh, helloooooo, it's MARCH!!!! Doesn't anyone know what that means???
Friday
PM: ACC Championship! MD vs GA Tech (Go Terps)
Saturday
AM: Praying this freakin rain lets up so I can go out and shell myself with the GS OBX crew again this week. 2 hour ride that kicks my ass! If not, I'll be on the trainer
Afternoon: Taxes, then more ACC Championship! MD vs whoever ('cause ya know Terps will make it this far!) (be DVRing Paris Nice coverage on Versus for later)
PM: GS OBX Tri Club meeting (meeting should really say "party"!)
Sunday
AM: Church, singing "Lift thine Eyes", Mendohlson for the anthem and then bolting to volunteer at the St Patty Day Parade- leading out the parade (kids running their first mile) on bike! Hoping to ride with the GS OBX crew after we finish our volunteer gig.
Afternoon: More ACC Championship (I'm really an optomist!), then I'll watch Saturday's Paris Nice coverage while the DVR records Sunday's coverage.
PM: Watch the Paris Nice coverage from earlier in the AM while enjoying some wine to celebrate Marylands ACC Championship win
Ok, east coast rain/wind expected, so time for some Spring Cleaning!
Also some time with bike on trainer, and work on run progression. So happy to be finally running pain free. It may be a slow progression, but I'm running
Plan to write my Haiti report and finish getting caught up on rest. ( not sure why it is taking so long to recover, but my colleagues experienceing the same)
Nemo- since this is the first time in yearsArizona not going to tournament and lost to UCLA, my attention now goes to Maryland. So i will help in cheering department there. Go Terps!!!!!!!!
Saturday: How about 2 hours of 20 6 year olds, a magician, a pony, and a bunch of cake. Then five hours on the bike (including parts of stage 1 of the Tour of California route). I will end up with at least 4,000 feet of climbing. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Running in the rain! And dodging drunken Irishfortheweekendmen. I could've had beer at eight a.m. in my neighborhood today.
Soon, I'm off to the family farmed expo with Jo Cobble, so we can get our nutrition on.
Just got back from listening to a Bob Seebohar presentation on nutrition. Getting things loaded up for riding on the rolling hills in eastern CO. Tomorrow riding. Not much time for any more fun than that.
