Navi2Coach or Garmin 500/510 (or 310?)

I've decided to pull the trigger on a power2max PM.  Need to get an appropriate head unit to go with it.  Currently have a Garmin 310 that could handle the load with the quick mount system for racing.  Would prefer to go for a dedicated bike computer.  Power2max is offering the O-synce navi2coach for around $200 with the PM purchase.  DC rainmaker has a pretty favorable review but several comments and other reviews report problems with the mount.  Garmin 500/510 get a little bit of a mixed bag as well.  Looking for any insight from current users of any of the three.  I live in Japan right now and would not be able to make use of the real-time ride tracking and blue-tooth upload features of the 510 but expect to move back to the States in about a year.  Cost is always a consideration but the price of the 510 is not a deal-breaker.

  • I don't know anything about the navi2coach.

But I have used the 500 for years and the 510 for many months. They are both great. The 500 is a workhorse and can be found for ~$200. That's probably the best bang for the buck. I really like the 510's ability to upload my files directly to Garmin Connect and Strava just by having my phone near my bike when I'm done. I even do this for Trainer workouts, etc. You also get 2 see 2 more cells on the 510 vs the 500 if you really want to see a lot on one screen.

FWIW, you can get the 510 bundle at www.jackandadams.com for 25% off using the code "twenty5". I also had a friend who called them and they honored that discount on a Garmin product that they had to order for him, so you might be able to use it for a 500 or the 510 without the bundle if you call them.
