POWER ZONES

Coach P, I just did my power test yesterday. It turned out 10 watts lower than my last power test this spring before the race season. Is 10 watts drop that I should use as my base or should I continue to use the older and higher FTP? I did expect a drop in the number. I have not performed any high intensity workouts of this nature all summer. Leading up to IMLP last July, I was riding with IF of low .70 to .80.

  • @Ed a 10-watt drop is practically a statistical rounding error, but you still use it. Most folks see a 5% to 10% drop depending, so I think you are in a great place!!!
