Gimmie your best three bullets on IM Canada-Whistler

Observations, cautions, EN strategic advantages?   I'd appreciate whatever you can offer.  But I have an attention span these days that's capping me at about three bullets, so be judicious in choosing your highlights

    • Very challenging bike course.  I had about 6,500 feet of elevation gain.  The last 20 miles is literally up hill.  It's the placement of that last bit of climbing that makes it real tough.

    • The run was no picnic either.  I had about 1,300 feet of elevation gain.
    • Absolutely stunning and beautiful scenery.  The whole course looked like a postcard.
  • Sheesh... just three?!?

1 - Swim is unremarkable (aside of the scenery) IMO.

2 - Bike favors the EN disciplined style of riding.   See previous post and a RR would be highly recommended.  That last 20 miles is no joke and riding it in advance of the race will give you a major leg up.

3 - Run is very “fair” meaning no drama but not flat either.  Look out for bears.  Not kidding.

  • one for now.       Do practice rides on the bike course.    Mainly so you know where to work descending.
