Missy Schorpion's Micro Thread

Hi Coach!

My husband, Jan and I are really enjoying the structure and advice of the training plan so far.  Sorry for not reaching out earlier, but when it comes to triathlon, he likes to do most of the talking ;)  I do have a question for this week's plan though- I will be traveling out of town for work this weekend.  At the hotel I have access to a treadmill so I don't think I will have a problem getting in the run.  However, I will not have the setup with my bike and trainer road, etc.  Would it be worth it to try to hop on a stationary bike at the hotel and ride that way?  Or should I take  a rest day over the weekend and do the actual bike workout on Monday?  

Let me know your thoughts.  Thanks for all the guidance so far!

  • @Missy, great to have you here...no worries on the questions. Ready when you are!!! image If possible, I suggest that you do the Saturday ride on Friday (no run required), then Saturday off, then Sunday run as planned. If that's not an option, then I would do friday off, Sunday run on Sat, then on Sunday I would do a steady run of about 45' with 6 strides at the end -- maybe some bonus core / flexibility. Then you can take monday off and just get back at it on Tuesday. A missed weekend bike in the OS is an opportunity to ride harder the next session b/c you'll be more rested....no make ups!! image
  • Thanks Coach!  That sounds great.  My flight is pretty early on Friday, so it looks like I will be going for the double run, and biking hard next week.  Thanks for the advice!
