Brent McKay's Macro Thread

Coach - I just completed a very successful season using EN training plan and your guide. By far, best single season performance improvement in the three years that I've been doing triathlon. With that said, time to get to work looking forward to 2014 season.

2014 Season Goals:

1. Continue to improve threshhold on both bike and run. My improvements were significant this past season but would like to continue pushing improvement, especially on the bike.

2. Go sub 5 hours for 70.3 distance. I'm almost there, I intend on breaking through this barrier in a big way this year.

3. Stretch Goal - Qualify for 70.3 Worlds

Currently I have only a couple of races on the schedule but I start off with a bang...

March 1 2014 - Woodlands TX Half Marathon

April 15 2014 - HITS Napa 70.3

July 13 2014 - Shadow Creek Ranch Sprint Tri

August 3 2014 - Bridgeland Sprint Tri

I need a new training plan for the season. One thing to note, I have started to incorporate some cross training over the past two weeks since completing Ironman 70.3 Austin. I'm doing the P90X Classic program. Not sure what your take is on that and how to incorporate it into the plan. Using it to improve core strength and conditioning.

Look forward to hearing back!

Brent
