Gonzalo Canteros Paz Micro thread

Hi, currently doing Nov OS and then have season plan that takes me to IM Texas (mid May)...now....

here comes the twist...I am signed up for a Mount Rainier climb Jun 14th (based on previous Ironman races, I am most than recovered after 3 weeks)

Climb lasts 3 days and is an expedition with very experience guides and safety is first

Day1 : from base camp (5,400') to Camp Muir (10,060')  nearly 4.5 miles and takes most of the day, some hiking in ice

Day 2 : acclimating in Camp Muir

Day 3 : Summit climb starting really early to reach 14,410' summit and then back to base camp in the afternoon. DONE

I need to be able to achieve:

Hiking with a 35-45 lb load
Steep climbing and glacier travel with a 20-25 lb load
A 10-14+ hour summit day

So, In January I have to start adding to my week some stairmaster climbing (walking up) with backpack load. I am not really concerned by fitness in general, but wanted to see if you had experience with someone dealing with this in the past and chat change I should (if any) introduce in the Outseason

any guidance helps. Thanks
