Computrainer 3D Software Crashes
Teamies, after working just fine for months, my computrainer 3D software starting crashing this week. It happens when I try to load a course. As soon as I load, the software crashes and says to check the file fatal.log, but the file doesn't exist. I ran a Direct-X diagnostic and sent it to computrainer. I also posted a message on their discussion board. I am currently dead in the water.
Leading up to this I did notice a few odd things happening: 1) objects in the simulated landscape were often white boxes instead of trees, signs, etc. 2) The computrainer software was not locating the correct com port to communicate with the head unit (I had to do a manual scan to connect the trainer with my computer. If you have been able to fix a problem like this, I would love to hear about it.

sorry can't help. computrainer software sucks. part of the reason I use the Kickr now.
but, when I was using the computrainer, I always used ergo mode. just using the yellow control box.
but, if you need to test, you need the computer mode yes?
I've had a CT since 2007, and agree the software works about as well as Frankenstein - cludged together, makes human-like movements, but pretty dumb. During my tenure with CT, I've found the following things have worked at various times to fix problems:
But, at this point, when I use the CT, all I do is create a program in TrainingPeaks ERG software, and then run it in Coaching CS software. Or use TrainerRoad to just take over my CT unit. I don't use the 3d, courses, or videos at all anymore.
So yes as Al said.
or as the others said, Trainerroad !
