Kerrie's Micro Thread

Hi Coach -

Been in a cold/bronchitis cycle for about 2.5 months, so training sporadic because trained when reasonable and not when not appropriate.  Doc.thinks today's set of meds is going to solve It for good,  Starting about 6 weeks ago, for 5 weeks, I mostly did my workouts, just not as intensely as normal, then skipped this week because felt worse - and hoped a longer break might help. 

If doc is right (now, please!) what's the best way to get back on track with the November outseason, go back and start OS over again or just keep going, even though haven't done very good job in first 4 weeks?  Have or hope you had a great Thanksgiving.  Thanks.  Kerrie

  • @Kerrie...such a bummer...but you gotta get right. Can you tell me what your A race is again? I think a reset is best, personally, but I want to know if we have time to put you on Run Durability Plan until Jan OS start or if we gotta hustle...
  • My A race is IMLP.  Thought about switching to a November IM, but didn't get in and Cozumel is just enough different (later than Nov races and temp from DC then) that think better off sticking with LP - but let me know if you think I should reconsider that.  OS so far not a complete loss, just not what it could have been otherwise.  The good news is that even after 2 days, the meds do seem to be working.  Thanks. 
  • @Kerrie, LP is ok. I say the adjustment factor is this: 



    * We go RDP for now through Jan OS. 

    * You go Jan OS into swim camp into the final 13 weeks of your IM plan. PLENTY of time...please see the attached...

  • Hi Coach -

    Complete restart needed after life got in the way of tri.  Had signed up for IMFL.  Should I abandon IMFL given today's late date and my poor fitness?  If so, what about a half or international 11/10 or 11?  And then should I submit a post race survey to get a training plan?  Thanks.

  • Hey hey!!! Where we start depends on where you are right now. What’s your baseline level of
    activity these days for s/b/r? And what is your availability to train given the life stuff?
