PRP patella tendon

Just wanted to share my misery here.  I was battling with patellar tendinosis for months.  No pain when I ran, but after a run I was in pain for 2-3 days (I'm a PT and was rehabbing it).  I finally had to break down after an MRI and get a PR injection.  Next one is scheduled for Tuesday (12/3).  So I'm shut down from running right now and will hopefully start easy cycling on 12/10.  rehab starts 12/10.  To keep some aerobic fitness I'm using the arm bike at work and modified my position on the rower to not use the affected leg.

Hopefully this injection will do the trick.  So my out season is out the window.  I am training for Quassy/IMLP for 2014.  Got my fingers crossed the injections work.  this down time is making me crazy.  Thanks for listening.

  • Argh, sorry to hear, but you still have tons of time before the season! Please keep up posted on how the injections go- as a fellow PT I'm curious about these things!
  • Rachel,

I'm actually going to start rehabbing it tomorrow. I think the longer I 'rest' it, the more likely it is to continue to break down. I won't start running yet, but I'll do some basic loading of the tendon using kettlebells (swings, squats, deadlifts).
