Gopro Hero camera bike mount?

Folks, I'm looking at a Gopro Hero video camera for cycling mostly, but also for running, fishing and who know what else.  I checked out the Gopro bike mount and it's a no go.  The plastic bracket fails and the camera falls on the ground.  I'm seeing some other third party gadgets out there, but thought I would see if there is any EN wisdom on the subject.  Has anyone found a great solution for mounting a Gopro camera on a bike?

  • Why not your helmet? A couple of years ago, I recorded every ski run with a Contour slapped onto the side of my ski helmet. Never lost it once ... Despite being a big bump skier

I'd think videos with your head as a platform world be more stable than mounted on a bike ... Your body and meck naturally cushion road vibrations and bumps.
  • @Al: Yes, I agree the head mount would seem to be more stable than the bike mount. I'd like to have the bike as an option too. I'll probably start with the head mount then ease into the bike mount when the time/budget is right.

BTW, any advice on camera selection? The 3+ Black appears to have focus issues--objects further away than 4' are blurry according to many of the one and two star reviews on Amazon. Some say to wait for the Hero 4 to come out. The 3+ Black is $400; more than I want to pay to be a Beta tester.
