Harry Morris Micro Threadicus

Not sure if this belongs in the micro or macro forum.  I'll try Micro first...

Wed 11/27, Week 5 of the NOS, things are going great, and I sprain my ankle on a run. I've taken three days off.  The sprain isn't too bad, I've got some bruising, and still a bit of swelling.  I can walk pretty well, but I'm not sure when I'll be safe to run again.  I think I can bike, but have not tried it yet.

I'm looking for advice on how to change my training.  Go over to bike focus maybe?  Also, if you have any suggestions for how and when to start running again I'd appreciate it.

A bit of background - 2013 was my first year in Tri, I'm gearing up for my first HIM at Oceanside in the spring.

Thanks! Harry

  • Harry, sorry for the Turkey Weekend hiatus!!! I would give it a few days for the swelling to come down..aim for a Saturday brick run to see how it feels. I wouldn't suggest changing your plan just yet, simply plan on biking easy on Wednesday for 30-45 minutes in Zones 1 to 2...rest Monday/Friday as you ice and elevate that bad boy!!!!
