Jim Van Atta's Macro Dialog w/ Coaches
Coaches - I'm progressing very well on NOV OS Beginner; just completed Week 5. I've been blending with Army Physical Fitness training with decent success. Bike to work Tues/Thurs; half the intervals on the way in and half on the way home. I've been able to recover and avoid overtraining by doing the OS Beginner instead of some of the more advanced programs. Usually take Wed or Sun very easy. Now we have a 3-week Army fitness training course starting on the 2nd. The course is daily M-F from 02 DEC to 20 DEC. Program is built by Rob Shaul at www.militaryathlete.com. Very good program, but I won't be able to handle this training and NOV OS Beginner. The Military Athlete protocol is very strength heavy. Question is should I stop NOV OS and pick up again with Week 6 or just re-start in January with the JAN OS group?
A-race is end of June - Buffalo Springs 70.3.
I was thinking of maintaining 1 ride on Saturday so I don't lose bike fitness, then pick-up on OS Week 6. Will put me off-cycle for NOV and JAN OS groups, but won't put me as far behind for A-race later this year.
Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks

Do the Army PT thing, maintain the Saturday bike. Let's then have a conversation about where/how/if to pick up the OS at that time.
