Mandy Midgett OS Adj??

Hello,

I am on the 4th week of the Nov OS program and currently having it end 16 Feb. However, I had some issues (back problems, a cold, Thanksgiving) at the beginning of the Nov OS, and I have not been consistent with following the plan. Do I continue where I am in the plan and work on becoming more consistent or should we move the plan around? Also, during Christmas 23-28 Dec I will only be able to run...how do I make this work? Last thing, I am interested in attending the Blue Ridge Bike Camp, but not sure if this works into the schedule effectively. I hope I am in the right place for all the above questions.

Thanks so much-

Mandy Midgett

    Hello,

Yeah, this is common this time of year. Recommend you:

    • On 12/9, load up the Run Durability #1 training plan to end on 1/5
    • On 1/6, load up the OutSeason training plan to end on 4/13

So we're basically restarting your OS on Jan 6 and the RD plan is the best fit for you now and during the holiday below.

Also, during Christmas 23-28 Dec I will only be able to run...how do I make this work? Last thing, I am interested in attending the Blue Ridge Bike Camp, but not sure if this works into the schedule effectively. I hope I am in the right place for all the above questions. Please reach out to Patrick about the camp, he'll have the details on that.

    Thanks so much-

    Mandy Midgett

  • Good afternoon,

I see you stated to add Run Durability Plan #1, but I was wondering if it should be #3 since I'm planning for my A race to be IMCDA at the end of Jun.

    Thank you,
    Mandy

    Good afternoon,

I see you stated to add Run Durability Plan #1, but I was wondering if it should be #3 since I'm planning for my A race to be IMCDA at the end of Jun.

    Thank you,

    Mandy

Nope. The RD plans ramp up in difficulty. Your current fitness and description of where you are means that RD#1 is a better fit for you.

  • Greetings-

What will my season roadmap look like leading up to IMCDA? I ask since I have started the Jan OS plan and it ends 13 Apr. By then the original roadmap already had the IM plan loaded.

    Thanks,
    Mandy
  • Hi Mandy,

I did your Season RoadMap back in October and that says you should be in OS Wk12 this week. Sounds like that's not the case, you've restarted your OS by joining the JanOS group, but I didn't know that.

If this is the case, please retake the Season Planning Survey here and I'll rework your Season RoadMap. Thanks.

  • Hi Rich,

I've resubmitted the Season Plan Survey. On 6 Dec, you changed me to the Run Durability plan due to some lower back issues, travel, etc.

    Mandy
  • Oh, I'm also signed up for the Blue Ridge Cycling Camp at the end of April. I am happy to report I'm progressing well.

    Mandy
  • Cool. Your submission is in my cue and I'm parked at Starbucks on a sunny SoCal Friday afternoon to get these done :-)
  • Hi Rich,

With me uploading the swim plan 2 Mar, should I currently be in the 3rd wk of the Jan OS and continue to progress until time to load the swim plan, or do I fast forward the OS plan for it to end on 2 Mar?

    Thanks,
    Mandy
  • Hi Mandy,

Nope, don't change your OS plan. I'm basically pulling you out of the OS early, before Wk14 (the end of the OS plan) to do the Swim Camp plan.
  • Good Morning-

2 questions- I'm at the end of the first week of swim camp, but it states of the goals of swim camp are to do each of the 3 disciplines 3x a week, but the camp is not programmed that way. Should I be adding in additional workouts or continue to follow swim camp plan?

16 Mar I load the IM plan to finish 29 Jun. When I messed with this earlier it put me into the 4th week of the plan. Do you want me to start in the 4th week or start at week 1?

    Thanks,
    Mandy
  • Me again...disregard the first question about swim camp...I mis read the information:-)

So, only the 1 question about the IM plan.

    mm
  • Mandy, yes, I want you to start in wk4 of the plan, not wk1
  • Got it! Thanks!!! Wahoooooo!!!!
  • Hi there!

Hope all is well. More adjustments will need to be made :-( I went in for a female surgery 17 Mar and the Dr's found more than was expected. Now I go back in 10 Apr for a complete hysterectomy. Of course this puts me out of IMCDA, but I can roll to IMLOU and it should work well for the 2-3 week anticipated recovery. For now, I can work out as much as I want :-) So, I may follow the IM plan I'm currently on until the surgery. Do you want me to send you another season planning survey for you to reassess my training plan? Please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Mandy

    Hi Mandy,

Wow, so sorry to hear about that! Yes, fine to roll with the IM plan until your surgery and then we can connect when the docs clear you to start training again. But please be patient. IM will always be there so it's important that you follow the docs orders and let yourself heal up.
