Thanks for the detail. Clearly rest works too...let's not lose sight of that lesson as we get back to the grind. Your plan looks good....first week should be about time, not intensity...you'll need to just adapt to being "on" as a triathlon geek. If you can OWS three times a week I say your drop the Monday swim altogether -- I think you'll have a much better week kicking off with a good rest day...plus if you miss an OWS from the week, you add that Monday the next. Deal?
I tossed the remainder of the 2014 season due to burn out - one incident after another just took the wind from my sails. Working 18 hour days for most of July, major flooding robbed me of my basement creating major damage and total loss of appliances (washer dryer, boiler, hot water heater) -still dealing with that- as well as school and not really taking time off mentally from IM in 2012 - I was just so done.
I have taken the last few weeks officially off and am recharging my brain and body. I am using the rest of 2014 to work on body comp and strength and to do non-triathlon things - so staying away from Swim bike and run unless it is something that really interests me. But right now I need to focus on body work.
I am taking the necessary time off to be able to be truly present and all in for Worlds next June since I really want to do well. :-)
JK so sorry to hear about your issues! Life has a strange way of working; I can't think of anyone more likely to succeed in the face of all that adversity than yourself. The best part of this time of year is being able to create and out large plans into action...if I can help you with that let me know!!!
