20" Strides

Hi team and coach P - a question about the 20" strides on the OS plan. What s the propose of this workout?

    Sure! Strides at any time of the year, is about improving / maintaining running economy. You get the benefits of quality running at high speeds, to stimulate fast twitch muscles, but without the (usual) cost of lactic acid build up and muscular fatigue. By aiming for 30 single foot steps in those 20 seconds (just count one leg) you are getting close to 180 rpms -- great foot speed. It's a way to turn a mundane z2 session into a skill building / reinforcement session.
