PM protein drink

I need to revamp my eating and drinking!  JOS can't come soon enough:-)

What is a good nighttime protein drink for recovery that is not a lot of calories?  I need a wine replacement

Comments

  • I've used Designer Whey. It's 100 calories, 18 g protein and 6 g carbs I believe. I think the chocolate tastes good, but to me the vanilla is awful.
  • I like whey, unsweetened almond milk and frozen blueberries in the blender. Under 200 calories and 18 gms of protein.
  • After my evening workouts I typically eat a protein bar, not a drink. I do a PowerBar Protein Plus with 20g protein and 210 calories. I have in the past also used Core Power 26g (NOT the "light" 20g version which I think tastes a lot worse), however the Core Power is pretty expensive. My dad uses Muscle Milk but I don't like the taste at all.
  • As per Core Diet - I scoop of Vega Protein powder in 8 oz of water.
  • Brenda, I am looking online for the Vega Protein Powder but there are so many varieties...  I is confused:-)  Which one?

  • Carol - a nice clean whey protein isolate is NutraBio. It comes in plain, vanilla, choc.,ect

  • Correction - 2tbsp of protein powder in 8oz of water or milk. I use the Vega One product Carol and if you listen to the webinar by the Core Diet they prefer you use Casien (not sure of the spelling) or whey, but for the life of me I can not remember why. That webinar is in the wiki, under nutrition.
