Coach R - today I've 2 questions for you image

1) Any concerns if I add an 10k or HM in my GetFaster Wk#7 (07/06/2014) and if not should I shoot for the 10k or 21k option?

2) I would like to add another race to my schedule ... It's a special very bike focused triathlon with just 1k swim / 100k bike / 10k run and that's exactly the reason why I really want to give it a try image

The date is 09/14/2014 so basically it's just 2 weeks after my second A-Race (70.3 Salzburg/Zell am see) and that's what I'm a little worried of. What's your opinion here?

    1) Any concerns if I add an 10k or HM in my GetFaster Wk#7 (07/06/2014) and if not should I shoot for the 10k or 21k option? Maybe adjust the GF plan so that Wk8 (testing week) is the week of this race? And do the 21k option.

    The date is 09/14/2014 so basically it's just 2 weeks after my second A-Race (70.3 Salzburg/Zell am see) and that's what I'm a little worried of. What's your opinion here? That sounds similar to my perfect race, which would be a 5k swim, 180k bike, 5k run...you'll be fine for the race and plenty of time to sort that out. 


  • Well ... things are changing quickly sometimes ... Today I got informed that I'll most likey have another business trip to Fremont in very near future. I've no confirmed dates actually but I think it will be 2 weeks starting at 18/1. This time I won't have a bike there and as far as I know there's no trainer in the gym of the hotel I'm in - just a X-walker and 2 TMs. Running should be no problem at all ... swimming I'll have to check but should be possible as I know a gym there that have a 25yrd pool but I think I'll have to sign up for a month ...
    These are the 2 final weeks of the NOS image
    Should I exit NOS 2 weeks early and dive into the swim-camp? ..... PLEASE ADVICE image

    I don't think there's a need to formally exit the OS. Just:

    • Turn this trip into a run/swim camp, swimming and running as frequently as you can. 
    • Do your final OS bike test either before or after your trip...or maybe a couple weeks after you get back from the trip. That is, you're going to lose some bike fitness during the trip but it will come back very quickly.
