  • Looking forward to racing in the sunshine state again. Did this race in 2012. Had a 5:38 finish. Hoping to better pace myself on the bike this year so I have enough gas in the tank to run up the steep hill at the beginning of the 3 loops. Sub 5:15 is the goal.

  • Hi everyone! I am also looking forward to this race. I had to sit it out 2 years ago due to a hip injury, and watch Jan race from the sidelines. Can't wait to comeback this year! No time goal currently in mind, I just want the finisher's medal.
  • I am with you husband and wife scorps!
  • Is FL 70.3 only me and the Scorpions! We  will rock it like a hurricane!!!!

  • I'm surprised there are only 3 of us doing this race.

  • I live in Florida and did this in 2012. Back for more punishment but older and wiser now. I have unfinished business in Haines City and I am looking forward to it.
  • I did the old Disney course with the death march on the rough, windless, grassy trail 3 times. From the reviews I've read, Haines City has an inferior swim venue but better bike and run venues. I know a few folks who are not going back strictly because of the swim, but I also know others who thought it was just fine. The kicker though is it is no longer on Disney property and it lost a lot of its attraction right there. I am not surprised that it lost participants who used to be able to walk from the Wilderness Lodge or the Campground to transition, and I suspect the date shift is an attempt to attract more people. You guys need to rock it and spread the word.
  • Hey team,

I am NOT doing Florida but my HIM is only a week different and it is a noname in Charleston SC. Paul suggested that I might drop in here and share some of your mojo since the spring HIM forum is kind of slow this early and my race timing is similar. This will be my first HIM after a year of sprints and Olympics working up to the Beach to Battleship full distance race in October. I will be happy with anything under 6 hours.
