Season Plan Execution

Rich, thanks for the updated Season Road Map. Since I received a power meter for Christmas, when should I do my FTP test?  Now or at the next regular test date?  Also, I can block many Thursday afternoons for training during the Spring and Summer.  Will I have longer workouts on Thursdays that would make my taking the time off worthwhile?  -Todd

    Just test at the regular date...or when you feel you need to by substituting the bike interval workout for the FTP test. Not a big issues, either way, in other words.

    Thurs = long run day in most of our plans. Having the afternoon off would be a good opportunity to get in a recovery swim. In other words, going longer than the plan calls for on Thurs isn't a great idea because the long run is long enough and that will begin to bleed over into Friday and the weekend. Just use the rest of the day for active recovery.
