This'll be my first 70.3 after Olys and sprints previously. Primary goal is to finish upright. Secondary goal is 0:40/2:50/2:15 for sub-6:00.
Started JOS this week, with several sprint/oly races as lead up to 26 Oct.
I live in both Palm Beach FL and Metro-Detroit MI. Talk about the best (and worst) of both worlds. I like doing an after-season (for us here in Michigan) half and last year did the MiamiMan in November. I am thinking long and hard about doing this race this year, but it is still a toss up for me on Ironman 70.3 Miami or MiamiMan. We shall see what finances dictate. :-)
Hey Team,
I'm signed up for Miami 70.3. Did it 2 years ago. Did MiamiMan last year on virtually no training and on a brutally hot day. Each race has its strengths and weaknesses. Ultimately, I chose to do 70.3 again this year because IM races are spectacles and I can stay at a hotel across the street (I live an hour north in Palm Beach County, but you have to check your bike in the day before, so commuting back and forth on Sat and Sun is tough). I should say that my goal is to just finish and have fun, but I'd really like to go sub-30 on the swim, sub-2:30 on the bike, sub-1:35 on the run, and take a run at my 4:47 PR. I will need a lot to go well in the next 4 months to reach any of those goals.
If anyone has questions about the course, venue, etc., let me know.
Mike
Signed up and ready to repeat. Raced last year to finish in 5:45, very happy and hoping to improve on the bike and run segments, aiming for 5:30 this year. I live and train in El Salvador down in Central America. Arriving on Thursday and hanging out until Monday. Hope to see you guys there happy training!
This would be my 3rd HIM, I have done Panama and last year I did HIM Miami in 6:13. I hope to do 5:50 this year!
it is a grea race for begginers, the water is not cold and the bike is flat!
Arriving on Thrursday 23! we should meet.
I live in Barranquilla Colombia.
