Amy Chesire new micro thread

Hi Coach Patrick
I just started my one month trial membership referred by Beth Hornack here in Rochester, NY and we had our call this past Thursday ( I'm the social worker coming back from high hamstring tendonpathy and planning to do IMAZ as my first IM) anyway I was out running alone yesterday(Fri) and it was snowy about 20 degrees and I fell running downhill not knowing there was ice underneath the soon..ugh right away I heard and felt my right ankle sort of snap..awful and no cell phone on me ( stupid snd about 2 miles from home running on the Erie Canal path, so I could stand up in my left foot and took me about 45 mins but could hobble about 400 yards to get at least close to a neighborhood and was able to yell and scream to get the attention of a guy shoveling his driveway! Thanks god as I was freezing at this point and in unbearable pain.. So many hours in the emergency room later and I broke my fibula and badly dislocated my ankle joint, I will have surgery next Sat ( to allow swelling to go down) to put in some pins and screws. Doc tells me 6-8 weeks recovery so best hope is return to running mid April.. Can I put my one month trial on hold and then come back to join in April? That will put me at 7 months out from IMAZ do you think that is even realistic? Sorry for lengthy thread you can probably tell I pretty devastated..
Thanks
Amy

  • AMY HOLY CRAP!!! I am so sorry to hear this has happened to you. YES you can train to race...You can email Anne here (support@endurancenation.zendesk.com) to ask her to defer your trial until April (so you don't bill until May 1). Tell her I sent you.

Before you get cut off, please go to the Wiki and the running section to review the stuff we have there on Deep Water running. Please take those with you.

Also, you have my phone number, so please feel free to text / call me as you need....I can be Good Cop and Bad Cop (when required).

    Sending you umpteen positive vibes....
