Antonia Noonan's Micro Thread
Hey Cool Coaches,
So, I am going to Colorado this coming Sunday, January 19th, for a week of skiing. Have two questions:
1) I will be traveling on Sunday, so not completely sure if I'll be able to get my run in on that day. How should I tweek the last several days of Week 2 of the JOS to accommodate my travel schedule, yet get the key workouts in?
2) I will be skiing Monday - Saturday, and then traveling on Sunday. How should I adjust Week 3 of the JOS?
Thanks.

Option 1 = Damage Control
Ski like a beast but don't eat and drink like one. Be smart with the calories and when you come back we have you do week 3 for time, not intensity, and by week 4 you are all set.
Option 2 = Good Do Bee
You find some safe indoor (or safe outdoor) place to run and you get in 3 x 30' runs...just to keep the muscles firing as we like...then ski away, etc. Maybe you even work in an afternoon of snowshoeing instead of just downhill?
Option 3 = DO NOT DO THIS OPTION
Try to get outside for full run with crampons on in the dark before wake up....sandwich in full intensity bike replica workouts on 1963 Jack LaLance cybercycle, etc.
I promise to help you but only if you post a picture of you skiing or on a lift to the Dashboard!!!
Option 2 sounds good. Our place has some really nice, new, top of the line treadmills, with a view of the mountains, so they are very welcoming...Unlike most treadmills we encounter when traveling. I like the afternoon of snowshoeing suggestion, so will definitely work that into the week's fun.
Will post picture to Dashboard for sure.
I will be doing Gran Fondo New York on Sunday, May 18. At the moment, I am in week 9 of the Intermediate Ironman plan on the road to IMLP. How should I adjust, taper/not taper, my week leading up to the hilly 100 miler. otherwise known as GFNY?
Thanks,
Antonia
