Paula Nystrom - Micro Thread

At the risk of sounding like a wimp... My only swim option during the week is outdoors at the Y.  It is supposed to dip into the 40's this week (in South Florida), and I could probably get myself in the water, but getting back out and into a freezing cold locker room is not going to happen.  I am supposed to swim Wed and Fri (get faster plan week 2).  Should I substitute core work, running, riding...?  Please advise.
