Just use the aero bars on the bike, don't do anything to really aggravate it. I think swimming may help but just from the movement in the water maybe even just treading water but that's totally your call. Keep me posted.
RR wasn't-I got a little over an hour on the bike and just took it easy for most of it. The fact that I almost fell to my "good hand" side at the start freaked me out a bit. Nerves I'm sure and thank goodness I didn't fall. I'll have a chance to try a swim Tuesday and my hand is getting better daily-closer to being able to make a fist. Will do my 60 min run from yesterday today.
I know you are busy this weekend, but thought I'd check in. I've been working on my RR and will post it today (I hope).
Rode yesterday in temps that are predicted for the race, had a decent headwind at times. My hand will not prevent me from biking and as of yesterday I still need to tape my fingers for the run. I do need to take time to elevate at times, but I was able to get low during the head wind-actually I was in all three positions on my handle bars without issues as long as I'm careful.
I drank the 1 1/2 bottles an hour and rode for two hours. I didn't pee, but after drinking at mile one of the run I could have stopped for that. I took two energy blasts every 20 minutes and in the two hours of riding and 20 min of run I didn't have stomach issues.
My hand is probably at 75%, but it won't stop me from biking or swimming! Thanks again for your advice and support. I think I got this ...
Coach P-I know we chatted, but I was wondering if you had any thoughts on my Race Execution draft? Any feedback is appreciated. I do know Eagleman doesn't have gear bags, so one less thing.
Today I did my scheduled bike/run WO (beginner) and felt great, but even after drinking 1 1/2 bottles of Perform and my Fuel belt size bottle on the run I still don't feel the need to pee. It was hot, but it was after 6:30 PM when I started so, not full sun like it will be on race day. Should I consider MORE liquid while on the bike? I'm 165, but only 5', not small only vertically challenged.
Carla, your plan looks good! I think that you should try to drink more. we drink on the bike until you burp...and then you can back off a bit. when did you pee after that workout?
not for about an hour after the run. I sipped at a Perform bottle on the 10 min ride home. then ate protein, posted on here and relaxed before I thought about it.
I think I am just over stressing, imagine that! I will have my 3 bottles on and will get some during the course-there are 4 aid stations on the bike course about 8-10 miles apart. I will be going about 12 MPH, more or less depending on headwind. So getting Perform at the aid stops.
I'm just ready to be done packing and get down there. I did ask the group and got one thought; my question is:
I'm staying 1.6 miles away from the Swim start/transition. Transition closes at 6:45 AM. My swim wave goes off at 8:20. Is is dumb to consider walking to the Park? I'm thinking it may help keep my nerves in check and I could leave around 6:00.
My other option is driving to the shuttle point which is 2 miles from the place I'm staying-I'm thinking I'd need to leave very early to deal with parking.
I don't have anyone to drive me, my family will be meeting me at the swim start.
