Official Multisport World Expo THANK YOU Thread

Folks -

Totally EPIC showing by Team EN today from the minutes the doors opened, through the TT, all the way until the Asgard. A huge thanks to Chris Smyth and Robin Cline who both essentially staffed the EN table all day - you guys are rock stars and EN owes you big time. Thanks also to Mike Graffeo for continuing to play wicked smart EN rep and to all the others we saw: Steve Ford, Keith + Linda Patch, Michelle C + Proudest Hubby Ever, Keith Wick, Paul Takac, Geoff Palmer, Dave Corso, Leigh Boyle, Mike the Biggest Man Ever from Nantucket and many others. You can view some fotos online here. The videos are up on YouTube from the bigger of the two EN heats, including this ridunkulous footage of Steve Ford eating a hot dog at mile 4 of the indoor TT. Unbelievable focus and determination!

  • OK- internet connection is weak so I can't see the whole video0- but got enough to see Steve down the dog! Love the fact that "Hungry like a Wolf" is what is playing in the background!!! Tooooo funny!

Awesome job Team EN! What a great showing!
  • That was painful watching! Nice work everyone!

  • I can't believe that song was playing!!! It was hard to concentrate watching him!!!  He is THE MAN, and he helps make every gathering lots of fun.

I got to meet a few peeps new to me--Paul Takac who I've been mentoring, Chris Smyth, and Robin Cline. You know when two EN chickas meet it's fast friends in an instant. Reconnected with the other teammates I already know, and caught up on training stories and real life stories. It was a great time!  These are really super people on the team. I needed the camaraderie, and it didn't disappoint. We  flew the EN colors, and did the deed to represent. Awesome.

  • Awesome time! seeing people crush themselves is very inspiring, Linda, Michelle and Leigh are  EN Chickas for sure.

    Heres to next year

  • A couple of takeaways: Steve Ford and that hot dog: TOO MUCH! Way to get me laughing first thing in the morning... Coach P bowing to the Halligan and then looking around at his gathered, suffering teammates like a proud papa.
  • That looks like you guys had a blast. The ONLY way to do an indoor TT is sharing the pain!! Way to go Team EN!!

  • I can vouch that it was painful. I am the one in the white hat that looks up on occasion. I am next to Linda Patch and she looks beautiful! I was really suffering. Several times I really wanted to quit. But the best part was being with everyone else! What a great time.

I need to check, but I KNOW I crushed my time from last year. I averaged 200 watts this year and I think last year I was 184. So not bad!

Great to meet Chris, Paul and Robin in person, and hang out with the NE cell. Amazingly we did not have a single flat tire on this group ride!
  • How awesome to see so many of you flying the team colors and rocking out to Duran Duran!
I gotta move closer to Boston...
  • I should have watched that for a little extra motivation on my week 20 FTT that I did today.  It looked like there was a lot of pain involved.

  • Wow, looks like you guys had a lot of fun!

Can we get a decoder ring on who's who in the video? I recognize (Obviously) Coach P., Dave Hailgan is on the other end? I see Leigh Boyle, Steve Eating the hot dog and Michele with the white hat. Can someone help fill in the blanks?
  • Just watched the video.  That looked so fun!  Would have loved to have been a part!  How does one eat a hot dog while doing a TT EN style????  I had a gag reflex just watching

I'm next to Michele. In the row in front of us, and directly in front of me is Mike Graffeo with a black head band. To Mike's R (looking at him straight on) is my husband Keith. To to the left of Mike is Keith Wick (En shorts, black shirt). The guy in the green shirt is not part of the crew. Between Leigh and The Halligan is Dave Corso. In front of Leigh, guy with reddish hair is Dave Boyle. I think that's everybody?

  • Standing over by Linda and myself, in the background wearing the EN colors is Paul T in glasses and Geoff Palmer. They were in the heat before ours.
  • The thing I noticed the second time I watched this: that hot dog looks mighty chunky as the heat wears on...

Linda - Thanks for connecting the dots!

  •  Awesome is right! Witnessing Steve redefine "hot doggin' a TT" alone was worth the long drive. The EN table at the Expo was great and the EN table at the Asgard was even better! This was my first chance to meet some teammates and it was everything I could have hoped for.. I especially enjoyed getting the chance to meet my (very patient) mentor Linda

Thank you all for making me feel so welcome. Proud to represent Team EN,,,

  • It was a blast! so much fun to meet everyone and I didn't manage to screw up the video! yay ----

Ditto what Linda said about what En Chicas meeting up - so great in every way.

  • I'm only now starting to get my voice back, but man was that a great day!  Big thanks to everybody!

BTW, I think I edged out Karen Smyers on the TT.  Who cares if she's 18 years older than me, I'm celebrating that!

    Mike

  • All, thanks for coming out and representing! I can only imagine that your presence made quite and impression in the expo, especially Occifer Ford's Hot Dog Exploits

Oh no, I foresee another  EN Challenge in the making.

  • Man, what a great group of people we have in this Haus! Thanks everybody for a fun day! And thanks, CoachP, for the beerz and sweet tater fries.

It was awesome watching the 12:15 heat, filled with EN'ers crushing it! And I was honored to be in the 11:30 heat with Big Mike Allen, blowing UP the Computrainer. Impressive stuff.

I loved that Steve said AFTER the event, "I was just hoping to keep it down." We're ALL glad you did.

So, when are we getting together again? image

Coach P had the interaction with the Fast Splits guys about it. To hear him tell the look on the guy's face watching Steve eat that dog--it's a very funny story!.

  • Hey DH, I think next year the two of us should take on Coach's PnR in a little friendly TT competition at next years Expo...whatdya think? image

    Nice job everyone..way to suffer!!!
