Best, Brightest Headlamp for running pre-dawn

I've got a headlamp that I use but it's cheap and not ultra bright.   Anyone got a suggestion on a good headlamp that will light up the road with the brightness of 1000 suns??

Personally I prefer NO light.... so I can see and avoid traffic rather than hope they see me and can avoid me. I don't want to put the control in their hands, I don't trust them.

I've used this in pitch back middle of the night running, able to see all obstacles far enough in advance no problems. To BE seen, a reflective vest, shoes, hat, and rear red flashing light like for cycling are essential, IMO. As a driver, I find people who are not lit up and reflective to be very disconcerting.

Or, for $25 more, the ReVolt, with rechargeable batteries.

My husband uses the one below - it has a rear blinking light which is useful. Don't have to use the top strap. We run a relay every year in the middle of nowhere in New Hamshire and it does well in the dark during the nighttime legs.

 I also have a Black Diamond moxie that I like, not quite as powerful but does the job if its city streets.

I went with the Black Diamond Sprinter - primarily because of the rear red light. Most of my running is early in the morning around my neighborhood - and I think this will be a better lamp than the cheapo one I'm using. Had tons of good reviews on Amazon. The primary use for me is so that I can see what I'm running on...secondarily is so that I can be seen. I assume that drivers don't see me or don't care about me so I try to take the necessary precautions while running to stay out of their way.
