Jay Lakamp's Micro NO Running thread.
Oh Wonderous Ones:
Per doctor's order no running for 2 weeks due to deep tissue (gluteus max and medius) problems since May of last year. Seeing Chiro and PT every week and doing exercises and using the "fricken" painful ball rolling of my a$$. May get to test butt out starting ~end of January. Today I've combined my Int. JOS Thursday and Sat. bike rides...therapy.(Even higher new VO2). What kind of a plan might you come up with that involves no running? Running pain in the left butt after 1 block and then stride shortens up enough that it can't be stretched out which leads to walking (even after warming up and using a roller before heading out the door). Biking and swimming no prob.
Looking forward for your pearls of WISDOM from the internet SAGES. THX!

1 - When you can't run you have homework to do. So that has to happen EVERYDAY and that has to be your priority, not a "if I don't pass out after dinner I might get to it" -- we'll be foam roller buddies!
2 - You should bike on Tues/Thurs/Sat/Sun. All the OS workouts remain the same, with Sunday either being a repeat of Thursday (if you feel great!) or a 60' to 70' ABP bike session on the trainer.
3 - Wednesday is a nice walk, 30 to 45 minutes to stay healthy and sane.
If you haven't already, please check out www.athletestreatingathletes.com -- use the body map to find your area of choice and follow her instructions...there are tons of pearls to be had over there!!
Thanks P, I'll check the site out!
