Shoulder Joint Pain

Looks like my left shoulder joint cartilage is showing signs of breaking down which is causing a small bone spur. Doctor said to use a NSAID or/and try an over the counter joint medicine. Someone suggested trying Limbex. Consumer Health Digest recommends FlexoPLex or Omega LX. Anyone tried these or others?

  • @Jim tell him you want diclofenac 75mg. It is a strong anti inflammatory. After my shoulder surgery I lived on it. BUT keep in mind something is wrong. The bone spurs WILL get worse
  • Hi Jim

In my view, going down the road of pain killers etc. leads to a dead end. NSAIDs in particular will accelerate the deterioration of your cartilage. Some years ago, I went a different way with a treatment called Prolotherapy. Long story short, they give you injections that trigger growth of new tissue. In your case, cartilage is what you need. Before you get settled on a long term plan for your shoulder, check it out. I see you're nearby in Brookfield WI. We have one of the best practitioners in the world right down the road in Oak Park IL (www.caringmedical.com). I had treatments there on several joints, including on both shoulders. Seriously, without the treatments I had there, triathlon would be out of the question. Good luck.
