David Salzman's Season plan

Rich-

When I submitted my season plan in October there were still some vagaries with the races I had planned to do.  I have nailed down the big picture stuff and wanted your input regarding which plans to load and when - as the original plan had some open frames based on these uncertainties.

My two A races for the year are as follows:

Grand Rapids Triathlon - 70.3 on 6/8 (Transition week which follows I will probably be out of town)

IMMT on 8/17

Not sure if any other races this year, maybe a low priority race later in june (olympic) or early may if I can make the schedule work, but nothing definite or must do on the calendar at this point.

To make things exciting I will probably be out of town with no riding - maybe running although unknown from 4/10-4/20 - although that is a little in the air

November OS is just about done and ready to move on to the next part, still healthy and feeling good with training.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

  • Hi David,

Sounds good. Please submit this to me via the Season Planning Survey (under the Training tab above) and I'll get it all planned out for you.

  • I guess I am a little behind in the season planning process...but i'm not too worried yet, it will all get sorted out eventually. Ultimately this year will be another year of short course, maybe a 70.3, maybe do something silly such as running a marathon in the fall. Not quite sure yet. Regardless, it all has to start with an outseason. I do know that I had a ton of fun last year spending the season racing - 5 total olympics and then finished off the season with a another half marathon PR of 1:35:21. Running and racing speed increased throughout the 2015 season with a qualification for AGNAT's.

So that brings me to the big question of the week - Advanced vs Intermediate Outseason Plan? I think this will be my 5th outseason. Intermediate last year. Currently injury free.

    Thanks! - David
  • Hey David,

    Advanced for sure. Good luck!
