Garmin Training Effect (TE)

For those of you who own Garmin stuff...just curious how much stock you put into the TE score that it assigns each workout?  Do you find it a useful metric?

  • @Dave, I look at it but that is it. I base all of my workouts on Tss/rTss points. I have WKO+ for my analysis software. It give me much more detail for every workout than the Garmin site.
  • I've looked at it, but mostly ignore it.
  • Same here - I recognized it's calculated somehow AvgHR * workoutDuration ... or something similar ... you will get a straight 5.0 for almost every workout you will do on EN image
Baseline -> I totally ignore it image
  • I look at it only she I'm doing something that I don't either have power or pace for, ie spin class. And I just look at it for fun and say "ooooh, Garmin gave me. 4.1 for spin class today. Nice!"
  • It gave me a 3.8 for yesterdays NOV OS run. I averaged 8:18 a mile for an hour, including my 5K pace miles. There were hills. The Garmin TE makes no sense. Ignore.
