Hi there:

I'm toying with skipping IMLP and doing Ironman Louisville instead. Louisville is closer to home than Lake Placid, and I'll get a lot of family and friend support there, whereas I'll be going it solo in Lake Placid. Probably also a lot cheaper in Louisville.

How would that change my training at this stage? Currently aiming for a HIM at end of April, but if I do Louisville, that opens up other HIM possibilities, specifically REV3 Knoxville or Gulf Coast, both of which races I love doing.

Here's where I'm leaning: I'll skip IMLP and do Louisville instead. Drop the April HIM, and register for a May HIM. That would give me some more out-season training.

Suggestions? Races I should consider?

Thanks!

Matt

Ok, sounds good. I'm not super familiar with all of the races out there in May, but I know in the past I've seen people be hammered by the heat at Gulf Coast, because it's so early in the season.
