Bill Manard's double secret probationary Macro Thread

Somewhat a mixed macro/micro question here - I have the opportunity to do an Aquabike of HIM distance locally on 5 October, which is 3 weeks before my A race (IM 70.3 Miami).  It looks like that week of the training plan (wk 17) would include a RR swim and run, but not bike.  Would it be reasonable to drop this in as a B/C race, primarily using it for OW swim training, without disrupting the overall plan too much?  I'll ask specifics about rearranging the week in a micro query if this sounds reasonable.

  • New questions based on the TSR you sent today (thanks!):

    You put me in week 3 of the NOS starting next week, but this obviously skips testing. Should I just use my prior testing values (which are about 7 months old at this point) and wait for the week 8 tests? Should I try to "squeeze" in testing this week during my 2nd week of transition post-70.3 Miami (which seems a bit tough, but maybe doable by later this week)?

    Otherwise things look very straightforward, although I'm sure questions will emerge.

    Up to you. You could wing it until wk8, or pop out the tests at anytime, substituting them for the interval workouts in any given week.

    I got my TriClub invite for 70.3 Wisconsin early registration. This would fall in Week 11 (which has a big weekend) for IMMT. I'm thinking about doing it as a B race for fun and practice. Reasonable or crazy?
