EN Gear Suggestions

Some random thoughts:

A zip hoodie would rock!  (For chilly race mornings)

Also, a running singlet and maybe a tech shirt that has a bigger logo or in red or something.  (Just thinking about something to wear for volunteering to be quickly/easily identifiable to racing ENrs)

Thanks!

  • I would so love a hoodie.
  • I'd go for a hoodie but no zip.
  • Robert- but you don't wanna mess up your hair do u?? image
  • That's what the hood is for. To cover the AM hair.
  • That's what the hood is for. To cover the AM hair.
  • I like a nice hoodie sweatshirt for those cold winter days, bring it on!
  • I think the idea of a hooded sweatshirt (no zipper) is a G-R-E-A-T idea!!

Also, what about Timbuk 2 messenger bags with the EN logo embroidered on the side? The bags can be pricey, but they are SUPER durable!

If R 'n P would like someone to volunteer, I would be happy to coordinate such an adventure - but I DO NOT want to step on the toes of the EN Gear Guyz.

    Thoughts?
  • I'd like a hoodie and maybe some of the other ideas too.

    EN swimsuits anyone?

  • Love the idea of a fleece hoodie. But I'd vote for full zip so it's easy on/off. And thumb holes!
  • Hey Folks,

Just wanted to let you know that we're watching this thread. Thanks for the ideas! Let do this:

    • Please post your ideas, wants, desires, etc here, with a deadline of Feb 28th.
    • We'll then consolidate everything, have a conversation with Jeremy and see what he and his guys can do.

Now is the time for us to get everything organized and start the ball rolling. We're much too busy after about April. Thanks!

  • x 1,000 for hoodie … and I also like the idea of a timbuktu bag.  I think that could be totally bad*ss.

One thing that hesitates me from buying more EN gear is that I think the design is a bit 'convoluted', i.e. there are so many words on it (I realize how strange this sounds), but hasn't EN over the years managed to build a reputation that "en" speaks for itself without spelling out our training philosophy and mindset?   I like our mantras, but I'm not sure I want to be wearing them on my sleeves, chest, back … just a thought...

  • Good idea Kate. I think a nice, simple logo on the left chest and/ot back for the hoodie is ideal. Embroidered vs. screenprint would even be better
  • Grey or black hooded sweatshirt with small to medium EN logo in the center or Endurance Nation down the sleeves.....no zipper. Thick material.
  • I am in for hooded sweatshirt and I like Just the simple logo. I am with Kate and Kim above. If you need to put more about EN put it on the back because that is all they are going to see of me anyway. image
  • Thanks for the suggestions. Anyone else?

Over the years PnI have gotten compliments on the EN logo'd golf shirts (?) that we got for ourselves several years ago. These were one-off Dunning shirts we hooked up via some industry connection. Cut for athletic people vs the typical shirts on the market now that have you swimming in them.

Anyway, any interest in a nice, well fitting short sleeve golf-type shirt, EN-branded?

  • I'd like an EN tumbler in my kitchen cabinet--like the one's Ironman sells at all their races.
  • Hi kids, I got a message from a member asking why we were not listed on the IMTriclub kit order page for the backpacks that have Ironman and Club Logos on them. After much consideration the Coaches thought that was a cobranding program and we chose to not opt-into, but the coaches would like to know if there would be any interest in an EN branded backpack that would have the tri club champs badge on it.

Here is the link to what I am talking about: http://ironmanstore.com/ironman-tri-club-backpack-black.html
  • I would like a backpack with the EN Logo. I could really go either way on the iron man logo.
so yes on EN backpack whether it is Ironman branded or not.
  • Brenda- I'm in love with that new IM Ogio bag. Would love one with an EN logo!
  • I'm not wild about a backpack. I already have so dang many.... Ditto for polo shirts. That being said, there are some great suggestions here. I don't want to get ahead of anyone/anything, but is there a plan to somehow narrow down some ideas, see what's feasible and then having the team take a vote? thanks!

    More background here:

WTC approached us and other tri clubs about "co-branded" gear: features IM and tri club (EN) branding, such as on that backpack above.

In our opinion, this was more about WTC creating a vehicle to sell more MDot gear, something that we didn't feel was in your best interest? So what we're looking at now is offering you EN gear that has our Tri Club champs badge on it. We're already planning to do that with the race weekend shirts for this year (very nice, you'll dig them!) and this backpack comment from a member got us thinking, and at least floating the idea.

For now we're creating a list, will present this to ENGearGuy and see what makes sense. I imagine that at some point we'll ask you to vote with your wallets vs a poll or forum post. That's usually the more accurate method

  • The "backpacks" given out @ IM races last year were very cheaply made - stitching will start to rip from fabric with more than about 5# loaded. So they are not much use for race day, what with wet suit, shoes, helmet, clothes, etc. I assume this one is more like the ones they gave out in 2012, which were/are quite sturdy, and stand up to repeated race day use with full gear

I like flashing the colors, and would buy both one of the backpacks and a polo shirt.

  • I'm in for a good quality backpack as well.
  • I would buy a golf shirt and a hoodie!
  • I'd go for a polo shirt.
  • I suggest a SHORT SLEEVE tri top!!! (DeSoto cool style!!!).

  • I am in the hoodie. Golf shirt? I don't golf....

Backpack is a strong idea.... What about socks? The sock guys make them for our tri club and they really take a kit to the next level.... It's the details.....
  • Here is a nice backpack / duffel bag made for sports.
I want one with the EN logo in Red.

Note that it is not cheap but has a lifetime warranty.
