Garmin - inconsistent vibrate

Hello all I have a garmin 910xt which is about 1 year old. Worked perfectly until now....I like the vibrate feature and have it set at every 1 mile while running. The vibrate is now sporadic...it will do it "when it wants to"...and random so it's not the setting.

Anyone else have this problem? Solutions?

  • I think mine does that too. I thought maybe I wasn't noticing if it had vibrated or not but maybe it's actually not vibrating sometimes. It doesn't bother me much so I haven't been too concerned.

  • I find that mine also vibrates (and makes a soft beep) when I hit certain paces. I used to wonder what it was until I realized that I had loaded my paces, and then looked at it when it vibrated and saw that it was right around those paces.
  • I'd give them a call. I've had trouble with a series of 910s (unrelated to yours) and they have been good about replacing them after helping with diagnosis. On the one hand, it sucks to say I'm on my fourth unit...but on the other hand, they have replaced three of them with low hassle.... :-)

    If you do this, you can ask for the "they ship first" option, where they ship you a replacement unit and then you ship them back your old/broken one. They put a hold on your credit card for some amount (I forget how much) until they receive the old unit back...but you don't go a week without having anything to use.

  • Thanks all, there is something wrong with it for sure, double checked settings and still only works at random. I depend heavily on the mile pace vibrate and wouldn't want to be without it now. @ William, thanks for your post...think I will give that a try as mine is only 1 year old! Will let you know what happens.
  • Called Garmin yesterday and spent 1.5 hours on the phone with them....they were very helpful. We did a full reset on the watch so will wait until I use it next to see if the vibrate comes back. Fingers crossed.

  • Hello all, so the saga continues. Full reset did not work. Called Garmin on Friday and this time got someone who I wonder if he had ever touched a forerunner! At any rate, they logged a case and I am supposed to get a call on Monday. Let's see.

    I am a bit intrigued about the new garmin coming out in March...maybe a way / excuse to upgrade. ;-)
