Rob's missed 5K test

Back in week 8 I pulled my hamstring and was only able to complete the bike testing (could complete the 5K run test). I took a few days off and then resumed the plan without any changes.

Should I make a repeat attempt at the 5k run test so as to readjust my training paces or just continue with paces set back in week 1?

  • Stay healthy and injury free. Keep your "today" paces if you can sustain without injury. When you feel the need to test go right ahead, you will know when it's time to test again. Goal here is not to dig an injury hole that you can't get out of ahs you progress in your season. Just my 0.02 Canadian cents worth.
  • Thanks Steve - It seems the more I improve my form the harder I can run without injury/pain etc. Holding my paces hasn't been much of a problem especially with the VO2 workouts (I've been cheating and going faster than directed). Realistically though, I don't see myself holding much faster than my current paces when the distances are increased. Just wondering when its safe to test again. Thanks again andy your Canadian currency is good with me anytime.
