Doug Herr Macro Thread

Hi Rich,

I'm looking at my season map for LP and am trying to figure out if I am "calendar challenged" in terms of the LP camp.  It looks to me like it falls in week 14 of the IM plan, not week 15 as stated that it should in the wiki.  Is that the case and, if so, how should we adjust to accomodate the extra week between then and the race (put an extra week between RR1 and RR2, etc.).  Thanks!

    Hey Doug,

The IMLP camp is the weekend of 6/14-15. Would be great if you can do the camp. After the camp, just follow the training plan as is. Patrick will issued guidance to the campers for what to do the week after the camp / ie, changes that may need to be made to the week after the camp.

  • Hi Rich,

I'm mapping out my race prep phase for Kona and am working on bike shipping logistics.  My preferred method would be to us Tri Bike Transport so that I don't have to dis- and re-assemble my bike.  However, I'd need to drop it off ~ 9/20, which is before RR#2 on 9/26.  Should I move my RR2 up a week to 9/19?  The only other alternative I see us using my road bike (with no power) for RR#2, which seems far from ideal.  Or find another shipping method, which I'm uncomfortable with.  LMK your thoughts, Thanks!

    Doug:

    • Do RR#2 in wk17 of your plan.
    • Use your road bike for the remainder of your training until you leave but be sure to get in the scheduled volume in wk18, etc. That is, just because you don't have your tri bike doesn't mean you get to kick it and slack off . Still get in the scheduled stuff in wk18...just not on your tri bike.

    Good luck!
