Bobby McGee Run Form Video - on sale, get it.
Anyone who follows my posts knows that about 850 of the 1000-whatever comments I've contributed to EN say the same thing on the same topic: Buy The Bobby McGee Run Form Video, and listen to what he has to say.
The DVD is (again) on sale for 30% off until this Friday. So, something like 21 bucks. I don't get a McKickback on this - I just think this particular resource is up there with Chamois Cream and a Trainer Tire on return on investment, and I've seen enough questions over the years in the Forum about "improve my run / technique" that "Bobby McGee" is now almost an Automated Reply from my account.
There isn't any magic to what he has to say, but in my repeated view, he is a great communicator and his approach to run form is easily understood, practiced, and implemented.

Actually, you're an interesting case, because I've seen you post info on a lot of the discrete form skills that McGee also highlights in his video, and had assumed you already had it in your library. So, where the value will be added in your case, I think, will probably be the aggregation of these skills to a whole system of running and run form, and a sharpening of the critical awareness of your own movement patterns. So, a deepening of integrating the individual skills, I'm guessing.
Here's my challenge, then: Jot down a number right now, on a 1-10 scale, that answers "before watching the video, I would assess my knowledge and awareness of running form as X." I'll bf the thread in a month and ask the same question, and if the delta is two or less, I'll buy you a beer!
Tell you what ... I'll make it up by commiting to Arriba for my "Official Recovery Drink of Choice" during my Epic Camp! That'll definitely put the thirty bucks back into your pockets.
Sorry to me dense here but before I click "Buy" just want to be sure I'm getting the right one. It's titled "
Triathlon: The Run - Biomechanics and Drills - Vol. 4 USAT Training Series".
Is this correct?
Just ordered it! Discount code is still good as of Sunday 2/23.
Slowly recovering from soleus strain and hoping that incorporating these drills every week will reduce the chance of future injuries.
Thanks!
Would it be beneficial to do these drills before/after a run-only workout days or on swim-only days?
I do them on run-only days, and occasionally before a brick run. Also, there's lots of room mid-run to practice a certain skill - one route I have has a bunch of stoplights I need to stop at for the first 8 mins, so I use these stop-and-restarting opportunities as a chance to practice the "forward lean" drill. I spent this morning's bike workout watching most of this video for the drills and run mechanics stuff. I did maybe a total of 2 whole minutes at FTP and a whole 15 minutes at Z3, the rest just spinning easy as I watched the video. Very tempting to go out and try all those things right now but I'm racing a half tomorrow.
As Bobby says, ease into these things. They're like a workout unto themselves and not a good idea to go through all of them and then go out to do intervals. At least not yet...
