You know you like triathlon too much when...
You buy a $40,000 minivan not to haul the family around but to haul around bikes and gear for training and traveling to races.
I may or may not have done that yesterday.

Looking forward to seeing you at IMMT. Is that too far to drive your new buggy?
I went with the Honda Odyssey.
I wanted to avoid turning in my man card and buying a minivan but the utilitarian aspects of the minivan are just too hard to pass up. It hauls around people and gear better than any other passenger vehicle. It also drives a zillion times better than my big ass Toyota Tundra pickup did.
I don't put many miles on my personal car because the FBI gives me a work car so while the gas mileage difference between the Odyssey and Tundra is about 8-10 mpg it doesn't mean that much to me when I'm only putting 3,000 miles/year on the vehicle.
As a proud minivan owner for 5 years, let me say that you need not turn in your man card upon purchase of a minivan. My advice: roll through the grocery store parking lot at about 5 mph, windows down, elbow out, seat back, sound system up, head bobbin. Own it!
I love it! And, I think that is completely normal. I also think there is something wrong with my wife when her eyes glaze over when I start talking about tri-life.
Great choice Bob. We're on our second Odyssey. I can personally attest that you can get 2 adults, 5 kids, an 18lb dog and a tribike in at the same time.
NICE!
My sister (3 kids) had a Town and Country. I loved driving that thing! Now she's gone to some Chevy SUV, not sure why.
My Titan just mugged me last week to the tune of $1600 for bad O2 sensors and leaking differential seals. Truck is 10yrs old but only has 94k on it. I drive maybe 6-8k/yr, mostly highway miles to/from dirt bike trips.
4 wheel vehicles are totally tools and appliances for me. They have to have purpose and be functional. So we're on a path to selling the trailer, truck, I drive the Element, get a lightweight motorcycle trailer and we buy Joanne a fun convertible, Mini or 1-series BMW...or we keep driving what we have because it's soooo nice to not have a car payment .
But minvans these days are pretty cool and crazy functional. I would probably just take all the seats out
