? for veterns of Eagleman

I can't stand swimming in my wet suit, but planned on really practicing.  I swam the relay leg of the Half Full where 99% of the field wore their wetsuits as temps were 74'.  I did fine and was very happy not to have the wetsuit.

For those who wore them is it because of jelly fish or bouyancy? Or was it the temp?  On the race reports from 2 years ago a few people felt overheated coming out of the swim.  I don't want to be stung by jelly fish though!

  • I would swim in my wetsuit up until the "qualification" cut off UNLESS I was a really bad swimmer and needed the buoyancy. Most AG swimmers don't have the "swim gears" to know the difference between easy swimming and race pace, and they will really dehydrate themselves. Given how hot the rest of Eagleman is, this could be a real problem.

That said, you want to swim at least 1 OWS per week in your wetsuit if possible. Just good practice if you are considering using it!!!!
