Shuffling Intermediate IM days

Just joined- in wk 7 of Int HiM In general I need Sat off- have SAU for long Sundays. Whats best way to structure training to maximize bike time?
Also, when I travel are there trainer workouts I can sub? :cool:
And, when do I do testing?

    Thanks for reaching out. If you can get in an AM run, then we usually recommend the Thursday long run on Sat AM (as it never cracks 2 hours in a HIM plan so you can be back early), then you put the Sunday ABP ride (as much as you can) on Thursday AM...and long ride from Sat on Sun.

    If that's not an option and Saturday must be off, then we keep your usual week but we extend the "additional ride time" window on Wednesday by 15 to 20 minutes. And for the weekend long ride on Sunday, we'd add another 30 minutes at the end as well. So that's 2 quality bikes. This can work if the "odd weekend" -- say 1x a month, you double down on a weekend and get both rides in.

  • Yes you can. But note that when the runs get close to / over 2 hours you might have to cut !onday to an easy swim only OR take a day off. :)
