Swim current

What is the prevailing direction of the current on the swim? Which of the legs are with or against the current?

Comments

  • It will be dependent on the wind direction. For the most part, the swim is pretty well protected from strong current because it's in a somewhat protected bayou. Winds usually come from a S to SW direction that time of year and the currents usually go the direction of the wind.

My swim times have been fairly consistent there. 2010 was the exception as the current was brutal and my swim took 42 minutes compared to the usual 32 minutes.
  • In my two races I have rarely noticed the current while pulling along.

Just hope that there is no diesel fuel on the water!
