Pulling Plug on 70.3/Moving to IM Plan?
Hi Coaches- I have been training for NOLA 70.3 and then was scheduled to pickup the IM plan for IMLP. I have been dealing with a shoulder problem that has limited my swimming to almost nothing. Initially, it was thought to be tendonitis or bursitis but it apparently is something tougher to treat. The doctor and my PT (who happens to be my wife) want me to have injection next along with light swimming and if that fails it is likely a small rotator cuff tear that we will MRI and figure out how to treat. It's a really weird injury and I'm pretty sure it was caused simply by turning 40. Anyway, I considered doing the relay but I'm just not feeling it-particularly since work and travel have made getting my long workouts in tough. I know I could get through the bike and run but it would just be an expensive training day and a disappointment (I have done this race every year since the 1st race). I was planning to scrap the 70.3 plan and load up the IM plan as it is in week 19. IMLP is what really matters to me and I don't want to do anything to put that at risk. What do you think? Thanks

Hey Ben,
That's good, totally understand that decision and your call. But instead of the IM plan, I suggest you load up the GF plan to end on 4/27, then do 1 week of the Swim Camp plan, then on 5/5 load up the IM plan to end on IMLP.
