Garmin 310xt Won't Turn On

Anyone else have this problem?  Anyone with a solution?  I've done some searches and found a few reset how-to's, but nothing seems to be working.

When it's plugged up, the charge reads 100%.  Disconnect it from the power source and the power symbol is on the screen for about 5 seconds.  Then, pressing the on/off button gets no response.

Luckily, I have the Joule 2.0, also.  But, I want this 310 to work.

What do you think?

  • Hello, I had the same problem with my 910xt however a full reset solved the problem. I now have issues where it doesn't vibrate anymore and called garmin support. Spent lots of time with them trying things but in the end, they are sending me a replacement watch free. If you can't figure it out on your own, suggest yo call support direct as they seem pretty good at fixing things.
  • X2 calling Garmin support. You may have to wait on hold a bit to get to them, but they are very helpful and will go above and beyond to make it work for you.
  • I've had my own private war with my Garmin 310 XT this past month. during that time, I was having frequent difficulty getting the activities out of my device to my computer(s). Since I have a PC and a Mac, and have two ANT+ sticks, I was able to try all sorts of combinations trying to isolate the issue. The device would be recognized by all the Garmin Training Center programs, by the ANT Agent program, and by Garmin Connect online in all browsers. But transferring the data from workouts failed. I replaced all the programs, did soft and hard resets, reset all user data, everything I could think of, nothing worked. Finally, I started deleting old workouts. There was one workout, about a month ago, which I could not get deleted. Only after I eliminated all the rest was I able to finally delete that one. Then, voila, I was able to transfer data once again. Electrons and silicon can be so cantankerous, sometimes.

Hopefully, the Fenix2 I'm going to buy in a week will not be plagued by the issues the 310 has had (mine and others). I've had several Forerunner 305s in our family, which have all been solid as rocks for years.
