New bike seat/saddle

Hi EN Ladies,

I am in the market for a new seat for my bike and am hoping you have some suggestions for what to get/look for based on what you guys have.  The seat I have on my bike now is more of a touring road seat and I would like to change and get a triathlon or maybe racing specific seat.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated...I am still pretty new to all of this and to have a few in mind to check out would be much nicer than just picking the first seat I find.

Thanks in advance for the help!  (And sorry in advance if this isn't the spot where this should go in the forums!)

  • Hi Carly-

I am a HUGE fan of John Cobb's seats. I ride a Blackwell Flow (his design) and I believe several others are on his V-Flow. Pretty sure he has a 90 day $$ back guarantee if not happy. Good Luck!

  • You'll find lots of love here for the John Cobb seats as well as the Adamo's.
  • Riding a John Cobb Max Flow on TT bike and a Selle Lady Glider on the road bike.

Saddles are very individual. You'll need to figure out:

Do you want/need a cut out?

How wide do you like the nose?

Where do you tend to sit? I scooch to the front of the nose, so I need the full length cut out.

If you search in the "General Discussion" thread, we had an entire discussion about saddles.

Best of luck. It has taken me years to get it right. Hope you don't suffer like I did.

  • Thank you all very much for the replies and suggestions.  I have never bought specific parts like this before, so it is helpful to have a starting point based on your experiences/suggestions.

I didn't know there was already a forum on this topic and I will definitely search before posting next time.  Sorry for the duplicate thread. image

    Thanks again!

  • Carly- Please don't apologize. Things are always going to be repeated and opinions will change. Saddles are a passionate topic for those of us that have suffered for years with a huge range of ailments "down there" all from poor saddle/ shorts. If we can prevent you from enduring the pain we have suffered...
